The San Jose State University King Library has a full-time temporary Senior Assistant Librarian position with an initial contract through July 31, 2026 and the possibility of renewal thereafter. The librarian in this role provides online and in-person information literacy instruction to assigned departments while delivering comprehensive reference and research support through in-person consultations as well as chat, phone, email, and video conferencing. Responsibilities include performing collection management activities such as selecting and evaluating materials, and creating and maintaining online research guides that support academic programs. The position requires evening and weekend work and a strong commitment to serving a highly diverse student population by employing inclusive teaching strategies, course materials, and advising practices.
